No More Victims

The main purpose for writing this blog is not to point the finger and blame others for the misfortunes of our Nation, but rather to raise awareness as to why American Generations of today have such a distorted worldview.

If people continue to have a victim mentality and make excuses for their failures they will produce seeds of iniquity passed down to their children and future generations. There comes a time when people must take responsibility for their own life and no longer be victims of an ill-fated upbringing.

Generation X knows the reality better than any previous generation of the heartbreak and devastation that occurs in a family following a divorce. We will forever be changed from traumatic events in our lives, but we don't have to cause our children the same pain we experienced growing up.

Concepts of truth have vanished and simple principles of parenting that were common knowledge to former generations are lost to today's parents. The mid-to-late twentieth century breakdown in family and morality is not due to a bad government, the media and a corrupt society; it is due to poor parenting. Children are products of their parents and when parents fail in their job, the children are the ones who suffer. The corruption in society is merely a bi-product of broken families today.

In a selfish pursuit for freedom and liberation, parents neglect their main role as parents for personal gain. Parenting skills (or lack thereof) are passed down from generation to generation regardless of if those skills are adequate or not. While most parenting techniques are not premeditated or intended to do harm, the fact remains that children generally follow in their parent's footsteps.

Western culture is in the midst of a cycle of degenerating family structure and values. Many of today's parents were raised in a classroom and nursed on television so parenting does not come naturally to most people. But parents must imagine what it is like to be a real parent and reverse this destructive trend while their children are still young enough to be programmed.

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Make it count by raising up the next Generation for Christ!
